S4S November Competition

SCHOOLS FOR SCHOOLS, LISTEN UP, THIS AIN'T NO BALLOON BOY HOAX.

Schools for Schools is making it rain, and we’ve only got 50 days left to rally support for our friends. So join the competition and help us raise the stakes. Without you, these schools will remain neglected, overcrowded and under served.

December 17th is the end date for this round of Schools for Schools. To find out who is really serious this year, we want to see which schools can raise $500 by the end of November. And there are pretty sweet incentives for those schools that earn serious dinero for their partner school. Did somebody say mystery box? We kid you not.

To further up the ante in the competition, we're offering another chance to win a trip to Uganda. For the month of November, the school that raises the most money in 30 days will be rewarded with an opportunity to see their hard work pay off for their partner school.

Watch this video to catch our drift.

Think about it. Every club meeting you host, every dollar you raise, every hour you sacrifice is empowering these kids to pursue their dream of education. Not to mention, fostering long-term change in the quality of education in a war-torn region is a pretty impressive extracurricular activity.

Your money must be postmarked by December 1st to count for the bonus trip to Uganda. No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.

From Darkness to Sight

AN INVISIBLE CHILDREN EXPERIENCE OF WHAT LIFE IS LIKE FOR AN INVISIBLE CHILD SOLDIER IN AFRICA’S LONGEST-RUNNING WAR.

This first ever Invisible Children exhibition will feature a collaboration of photographic work, sculptural installations, along with media by Invisible Children, Inc. founders Jason Russell, Laren Poole and Bobby Bailey.

From Darkness to Sight is an experiential narrative of Invisible Children’s story; from the initial trip to Uganda and the founders’ discovery of the night commuters, to the creation of a powerful youth movement that is not only changing lives, but also ending a war.

The exhibition is showing at the PARC Foundation Gallery from Wednesday, November 4th through Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009. Check out the PARC Foundation website soon for more information.
